YCNMIU #5: Pompey’s ridiculous creditor list

We, like many others, have gotten hold of the full list of Portsmouth Football Club’s creditors and in amongst the usual players, agents, tax man and other football clubs are some VERY funny outstanding debts.

Did HE eat all the (Pukka) Pies?

Did HE eat all the (Pukka) Pies?

Take, for example, the fifty-odd quid owed to Auto Windscreens or the rather odd disparity between the 20p owed to Qatar Airways…and the £1,206.35 owed to Pasta King!

There’s plenty more where that came from too, like:

  • Booker Cash & Carry – £221.68 (REALLY?!)
  • House of Weddings Ltd – £270.00 (who?!)
  • Ministry of Defence – £626.92 (WHAT FOR???)
  • Pukka Pies – £40 (that ain’t matchday then is it!)
  • Radio Taxis (Southampton) – £46.16 (Southampton?! There’s a limo bill in there as well somewhere, so…)
  • Trent Pottery & Furniture – £14.84 (ok, who at the club is that cheap and has such bad taste?!)

Oh, and the electric bill is nearly £2,700 as well!

Amazing what clubs spend money on. Of course, we shouldn’t laugh too much. The financial demise of a football club isn’t that funny, especially when there are several schools and charities on that list they owe money too. But still…over a grand for pasta and only 20p to an AIRLINE?!
